About the Founders

True fate brought Kyle and Ellese together. Through their genuine love for each other and their heart to rehabilitate, protect, and nurture animals, they quickly became a dynamic team, striving to give animals a second chance.

The two met in college, and both, with aspirations neither expected, would lead them to form an animal sanctuary: a place of love, compassion, and outreach for those considered the underdogs in the world. While only in their mid-twenties, the pair overcame many obstacles to bring their dreams to fruition, and birthed The Gud Ark, an animal sanctuary where every animal deserves to be loved and know what it feels like to be cared for.

Ellese

Ellese earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, but her connection with animals began long before any classroom. With a gift that has earned her the title of animal whisperer, she has dedicated her life to giving animals a voice. Her care for each individual is evident as you watch animals once deemed disabled, old, sick, or unwanted now thrive under her hands, and visitors feel her passion the moment they step onto the property.

Kyle

Kyle is an Electrical Engineer who spends his days launching rockets to the International Space Station, and always makes time to wear many hats at The Gud Ark to keep things running smoothly. His love for animals has grown immensely over the years, and his steady, practical dedication is the backbone that makes the sanctuary possible.

A Greater Purpose

As a husband-and-wife team, Kyle and Ellese quickly learned they also wanted to be a glimmer of hope in the lives of humans, whether the veteran everyone has forgotten, or the foster child bounced from home to home. The Gud Ark has something for everyone: new experiences and education through the bond of humans and animals.

With the support of generous donors and dedicated volunteers, The Gud Ark continues to make a meaningful impact on the community, a place where both animals and people are loved, cared for, and given a second chance.
